With its 325 members, the CSM scientific network held meetings and workshops to pinpoint priority areas for action, issues to be resolved and potential research projects, as well. In the wake of this work, a call for projects was launched in April 2024. This $11M financial support program from the MRNF is currently proving to be a resounding success. An updating of submitted projects will be presented at Québec Mines + Énergie. This synthesis will be followed by a panel discussion on Quebec innovation in CSMs and their global impact. A panel on innovation on MCS and different perspectives from global centers of excellence will follow this summary. After that, the CSM network will host an international conference with Mr. Jeff Gaulin, General Manager – Public Affairs at VALE. He will talk to conference delegates about the development of the critical minerals industry in a turbulent market. Finally, the finalists of the CSM 2024 Excellence Award will be presented, and the winner will be revealed.
