Word from the Minister

The 43rd edition of Québec Mines + Énergie brings together two key sectors of our economy around a rich lineup of training courses, conferences and networking opportunities. I salute the commitment of the mining and energy sectors, which participate in large numbers at our annual meeting and pool their expertise to create synergy and explore new avenues. Together, we are capable of great innovation!

The theme of the 2022 congress is “A transition propelled by our resources”. This choice perfectly aligns with the event’s mission to promote and develop Québec’s rich mineral and energy potential from a sustainable development perspective. It is notably through these two sectors that Québec will be able to accelerate its energy transition and contribute to the global effort to fight climate change.

The main topics of this year’s conferences and training courses are critical and strategic minerals, geoscientific knowledge acquisition, automation of operations, corporate social responsibility, bioenergy and energy efficiency. In addition, approximately 100 exhibitors will be pleased to speak with you at their booth.

The Discovery component is also back with exciting and informative activities for students in Grade 4 through Secondary 2. These future adults will be able to learn about the importance of mineral and energy resources in their daily lives and reflect on the energy transition.

Thank you for accepting our invitation in person after two virtual editions – I look forward to meeting you!
