Faced with growing global demand for critical minerals essential to the energy transition, it is important for economic and governmental players to cooperate on ways to foster the creation of a sustainable critical minerals value chain to support the energy transition. This session therefore aims to open a discussion on the public policies in place or to be considered, which could be initiated by States, major institutions or international organizations, to encourage the implementation of good environmental practices in support of the development of critical minerals and battery supply chains.
This round table will bring together representatives from the Gouvernement du Québec, the European Union (EU) and international organizations such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and EIT RawMaterials, to discuss and present the initiatives they have taken, and the possible solutions to be considered, with the aim of ensuring that players in the mining and energy sectors adhere to the highest standards of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.
This session will be offered in both French and English.
