Word from the Minister

The future of Québec’s mining industry starts today

In a world where demand for critical and strategic minerals continues to grow, Québec stands out thanks to its ability to combine responsibility, innovation, and know-how. We have everything in hand to remain a reliable and ethical partner in the development of promising mining projects. The Québec Mines + Énergie convention is a unique opportunity to discover the full potential of our territory.

For several years now, we have been laying the groundwork for mining development that generates positive benefits for all of Québec society. The modernization of our mining regime, the roadmap for the harmonious development of mining activities and the achievements resulting from the Québec Plan for the Development of Critical and Strategic Minerals demonstrate a clear commitment to building a prosperous and sustainable industry. With the new strategy that we will soon unveil, we are continuing on this path by building today what will be tomorrow’s mining industry in Québec.

Under the theme “Québec’s Mining and Energy Resources: A Vision for the Future”, this year’s convention will highlight the many facets of the mining and energy sectors. Exploration, technological innovation, the circular economy, and social acceptability will fuel discussions among experts, entrepreneurs, and citizens interested in understanding the major issues of the present and future.

Québec Mines + Énergie is also a springboard for the next generation. Students will find exciting challenges and opportunities to stand out and build meaningful connections for their future. The “Découverte” section invites elementary and secondary students to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of earth sciences through both educational and fun activities.

More than just a convention, Québec Mines + Énergie is a place for meetings, exchanges and collaboration. This is where ideas are born, projects are made, and the future is built.

Looking forward to meeting you there!
