On 18 September, the Société du Plan Nord (SPN) launched a web platform designed to facilitate interaction between project owners (contracting authorities), suppliers, and other stakeholders interested in the economic development of the North. The Réseau d’affaires nordiques (RAN) is a free, bilingual tool that helps maximize the economic benefits of major public and private investments for suppliers located near projects. The SPN designed this platform to showcase major projects under development and suppliers in northern territories and Québec. One of the main objectives is to provide a centralized system that fosters transparency, partnerships and dialogue between members, making it possible to track activity, reduce economic leakage outside Québec, improve the ability of suppliers to meet the needs of project owners, etc. Panelists will answer questions on how the business community can prepare to take advantage of the many upcoming business opportunities in their region.
The discussion with the three panelists will be moderated by Martin Loiselle, coordinator for the maximization of economic spinoffs at the Société du Plan Nord.
