Presentation of Innovative Project ODAS (On-Demand Aerial Surveys)

Conference details

The mining industry is undergoing a digital transformation. In the era of the Internet of Things, site operators are increasingly connected to monitor their operations. Access to information and transmission delays are crucial. We are currently witnessing the installation of connected equipment, the use of automated machinery, and the increasing use of robots for inspecting and monitoring mining assets. What role do aerial drones play here, and how can we maximize their use on site? The ODAS™ Solution presentation emphasizes the various applications achievable with drone technology and highlights future potential applications.

Conference details

Abitibi Geophysics is reinventing the induced polarization method with the development of a new device that will streamline the field data collection process. Autonomous receivers capable of responding to an independent electrical injection will make it possible to interpret the data received in the field to provide more precise information on minerals requiring the use of more advanced detection methods. The information received will then be stored and retransmitted using a communication protocol. The resulting data can then be modelled in 3D for real-time reading and interpretation, with target prioritization.

The aim of this new method is to improve the speed of decision-making in the exploration process.

Conference details

Collecting data from an existing device or piece of equipment is relatively straightforward when working in a laboratory or workshop. Collecting, using and marketing data from hundreds, if not thousands, of such devices spread across a variety of potentially international locations is much less straightforward. Here we share some of our experiences and lessons learned.
