Metallurgical Studies: Approaches for the Success of Mining Projects

Monday, November 18

1:30 p.m. to 4:35 p.m. – Room 309B

Regular rate: $50

Student rate: $20

Workshop Organizer: Caroline Olsen (SGS Canada Inc.)

The development process of a mining project involves various risk factors that can impact its progress and financing. Metallurgical studies are crucial to mitigate these risks by allowing for the collection of critical ore data, ensuring the viability of the project.

This workshop will provide an overview of approaches to conducting metallurgical studies at different stages of the development of a mining project. The main metallurgical tests as well as the associated unit operations will also be examined.

Through the analysis of concrete cases of mining projects in Quebec, this workshop will demonstrate how the results of metallurgical studies are used to design the process flowsheet, define engineering criteria and guarantee the sustainability of the project.
