On May 28, 2024, the Minister of Natural Resources and Forests presented to the National Assembly the Bill 63 to amend the Mining Act and other provisions.

This 176-article Bill marks a crucial step in consolidating the future of Quebec’s mining sector, by focusing on the harmonious development and responsible management of our mineral resources.

The Bill’s key measures aim to strengthen transparency and predictability, better reconcile land uses, provide a greater framework for exclusive exploration rights, raise environmental requirements, maximize the benefits of extracted mineral resources, and increase efficiency for the entire Quebec mineral industry.

The purpose of this conference is to present in greater detail the provisions of the Bill amending the Mining Act. A question period will follow.

* Please note that Bill 63 has not yet been passed into law. The conference will be adjusted according to the progress of the Bill.
