“Shaping Subsurface Resources” is an educational workshop designed to raise awareness of the importance of georesources in our daily lives and within major ongoing transitions (energy, digital, and environmental). Inspired by collaborative serious game formats, this interactive approach highlights the links between subsurface resources, technological uses, and sustainability challenges.

Participants work with around forty illustrated cards representing key geoscience concepts, which they are invited to connect through a collective, hands-on process. This pedagogical tool fosters understanding of value chains, environmental impacts, and the challenges of extracting and managing natural resources.

The training aims primarily to provide facilitators with the methodology to lead the workshop and to deliver the scientific and technical content that supports it.

Developed by the AVENIA cluster, this initiative seeks to strengthen dialogue between science, industry, and society, while promoting careers, innovations, and strategic issues related to the subsurface. More than just a tool for awareness, it is a vehicle for shared understanding, meaningful discussion, and collective engagement.
