Since the surge in lithium exploration, knowledge of lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite deposits has progressed rapidly worldwide. Advances now span all key aspects of their genesis, including metal-bearing sources, mechanisms of element transfer within the ancient continental crust, geochronology, timing of emplacement relative to deformation, structural controls on emplacement, and associated geochemical and petrogenetic processes.

This conference will review recent advances in LCT pegmatite geoscience through integrated case studies. It will highlight examples from Precambrian cratons in Brazil and Superior Province in Québec, comparing geodynamic settings, mineralization styles, and emplacement models. The goal is to promote an updated, comparative understanding of the processes controlling the formation of these strategic deposits.
