Chemical or hydrocarbon spills can occur at any time, with consequences for the environment and the health of personnel and surrounding communities. These events can be particularly complex to deal with in remote locations, where outside help may be hard to come by. This half-day training course will review the key elements to be considered to ensure effective spill preparedness and management. Specifically, the training will focus on the following elements:
- Identification of risks and sensitive resources
- Emergency Measures Plan organization
- Incident management and coordination system
- Response strategies and tactics for land and sea spills
- Real-life case studies
- The importance and development of an exercise program
This training will emphasize the operational aspects of spill response and provide participants with useful knowledge in the event of an emergency.
