Yves Poissant

Scientist by training, Yves Poissant is a solar photovoltaic Technology Specialist and Research Manager at Natural Resources Canada’s CanmetENERGY since February 2002 where he manages a portfolio of R&D and demonstration projects related to photovoltaics. His current area of research includes PV system performance assessment, the validation of advanced inverter functions, the integration of renewables to northern microgrids and the large-scale integration of solar PV to electricity distribution grids.

Yves is the vice chair of CSA’s technical committee on photovoltaic standards and Canada’s delegate to the executive committee of the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power System Technology Collaboration Program (IEA PVPS). Yves lives with his family in his own solar house in the Montreal area and drives on solar electricity.
