Vanessa Thomas

A member of the Innu nation of Uashat Mak Malio-Utenam, Vanessa held a number of positions in indigenous organizations, including the Native Friendship Centre and Indigenous Affairs Canada, during her studies in Québec City. She holds a bachelor’s degree in consumer sciences and a certificate in management from Université Laval. She put her skills to work for the First Nations at the FNHRDCQ in 2013.

Vanessa Thomas is currently a project manager in the integration of the indigenous workforce and has been working for the First Nations Human Resources Development Commission of Québec for over 12 years.

She has worked with a number of companies to establish partnerships and relationships with the communities served by the FNHRDCQ. Her main mandate is to foster a greater number of partnerships; she also contributes to the integration and retention of the First Nations workforce.
