Sylvain Lortie

A recognized specialist in mining environmental management, Sylvain Lortie has nearly twenty years of experience in sustainable development and environmental compliance. Since 2021, he has held the position of director of Environment at Eldorado Gold Québec, where he oversees environmental management strategies and relations with government authorities.

Prior to this position, he was superintendent of Environment at Eldorado Gold and IAMGOLD, and superintendent of Sustainable Development at QMX Gold. He has also held environmental coordination and consultancy roles for various mining and engineering companies.

He also chairs the MISA Group’s network of environmental experts, where he uses his expertise to promote innovation, sustainability and collaboration between players in the Québec mining industry.
