Sébastien Castonguay

Sébastien Castonguay obtained a Ph.D. in 1999 from the INRS, jointly with the Université de Nice-Sophia-Antipolis, on the tectonic evolution of the southern Quebec Appalachians. In 2000, Sébastien joined the GSC to pursue his research on the Appalachians. Among other topics, he studied the geological and structural setting of intrusion-related gold deposits in southern New Brunswick and that of deposits associated with ophiolite complexes in Newfoundland. More recently, he researched BIF-hosted gold deposits in the Superior and Churchill, and gold deposits of northern Abitibi.
