Sacha Lafrance

Mr. Sacha Lafrance holds a B.Sc. in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and an M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He gained experience in mineral resource exploration with Geomega Resources, Xmet, Services Technominex and Osisko Mining Corporation. Since 2016, he has been involved in regional geological mapping in many regions of Quebec with the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts. He has worked in Nunavik, in the Ungava Orogen in the Churchill Province, in the Superior Province, and in the Abitibi, Opatica and Opinaca subprovinces in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Eeyou Istchee Baie-James. Since 2019, he has been a candidate for an inter-university doctorate in Earth Sciences at Université Laval-INRS. As part of this project, he is focusing on the nature of the Watts and Spartan groups of the Northern Domain in the Cape Smith Belt, Ungava Orogen, Nunavik. He has taken part in four regional mapping campaigns, enabling him to reassess the geological history of the region through petrographic, geochemical and geochronological analyses.
