Robert Wares
Mr. Wares is a geologist with over 40 years of experience in exploration and mining project development. He was responsible for the discovery of the Canadian Malartic large-tonnage gold deposit, which was subsequently developed and sold by the Osisko Mining Corporation to become one of Canada’s largest gold producers. Among other honours, Mr. Wares was co-recipient of the Prospector of the Year Award from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada in 2007 and was named Mining Men of the Year by The Northern Miner magazine in 2009, along with John Burzynski and Sean Roosen. Mr. Wares sits on the board of directors of Brunswick Exploration. He also served as president of the Ordre des géologues du Québec for 10 years. Mr. Wares holds a B.Sc. and an honorary Ph.D. in Earth sciences from McGill University.
