Patrick Joly
Patrick Joly trained in mechanical engineering (B.Eng.) and applied thermodynamics (M.Sc.A.) at the Université de Sherbrooke, and in business administration (MBA) at the Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris, Montreal and Stuttgart. Above all, he is a committed family man who is concerned about sustainable development, which he believes involves education, sciences, productivity and unifying values.
Since the end of the last millennium, he has worked as an R&D consultant, entrepreneur (including operating tractors and steam boilers!), mechanical engineering teacher and director of engineering and design for major international greenhouse projects. After the pandemic, Patrick chose to put his versatile background to work for a Quebec renewable energy company, and is now an enthusiastic development project manager at Boralex.
His role is to align political, industrial, technological and human interests so that promising projects can materialize beyond ideas, in the pragmatic hope of improving the condition of the planet and all its little creatures, one gust of wind or ray of sunshine at a time!
