Ozgur Kutay

Ozgur Kutay is the Country Head for UK Export Finance (UKEF) in Canada. UKEF is the UK Government’s Export Credit Agency, helping buyers around the world to trade with UK suppliers by offering attractive financing options. Through this local presence in Toronto, UKEF is better placed to deliver competitive and innovative financing solutions to Canadian companies and public bodies doing business with the UK. In this role, Ozgur manages the UKEF relationships for a number of project sponsors, contractors, public agencies and financial institutions in Canada along with supporting UK exporters to win contracts backed by the UKEF financing offer. Prior to this position, Ozgur served as a country head for UKEF based in Istanbul, Turkey with responsibility over Eastern Europe and Central Asia between 2018-24.

Ozgur is a seasoned international banker with a career spanning over 30 years, including over two decades with Citigroup taking a variety of responsibilities. His roles included running Citibank in Kuwait as the chief executive, managing credit for the region including Turkey, Israel, Caucasus, Central Asia, and leading Citibank’s corporate, financial institutions, and public sector relationships for the same region. Ozgur received his B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 1989 in Turkey and earned an MBA from the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business in 1991.
