Nicolas Lapointe

An expert in optics and photonics, Nicolas Lapointe leverages his expertise to drive technological innovation as CTO of Point Laz. His career is distinguished by roles of increasing responsibility in research and development, including positions as head of R&D and engineering at Zilia, scientific developer at Creaform, and research engineer at CERVO. Nicolas holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal and a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from Université Laval, with specialized training in biophotonics. This background gives him a unique perspective for addressing challenges in the mining industry. Outside of his professional life, Nicolas spends significant time at his outfitter or at his sugar shack, where he produces internationally acclaimed maple syrup.
