Michel Julien
In 2015, Michel Julien was appointed vice-president of Environment and Critical Infrastructures at Agnico Eagle. He was previously corporate director of Environment at Agnico Eagle since 2011. He previously gained more than 20 years of experience working in the geotechnical field and handling mining, environmental and geotechnical projects with Golder Associates. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto – Lassonde Institute of Mining, Civil and Mineral Engineering department, and is the former chairman of the board of the Research Institute on Mines and Environment (RIME) of Polytechnique-UQAT. Mr. Julien is a fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada. He holds a Ph.D. in mining engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal, an M.Sc. in geoengineering from the University of Minnesota, a B.Sc. in geology from Université de Montréal and a B.Sc. in applied mining engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal. He is a registered professional engineer in Québec, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
