Maxime A Cossette began his career at Kruger in 2015 as Vice President, Environment and Health & Safety, before being promoted to Vice President, Sustainable Development and Biomaterials. To this role were eventually added other responsibilities, including new product research and development, roundwood and chip procurement, as well as overseeing Kruger Recycling.

Since spring 2023, Cossette has assumed the role of Vice President, Business Development and Marketing. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing renewable energy business and technology development initiatives, as well as defining the sustainability strategy and managing stakeholder relations. In addition, he maintains his responsibility to oversee the implementation of the global energy efficiency and decarbonization strategy for the entire Kruger Group.

Prior to joining Kruger, Maxime spent over 15 years at 5N Plus, the leading producer of semiconductors and high-performance materials for various advanced sectors. As a founding member, he played a crucial role in the company’s growth from $3 million to $500 million, overseeing various aspects of the development and construction of new plants dedicated to renewable energies in Europe, the United States and Asia.

Cossette holds a degree in occupational health and safety from Université de Montréal, and has also earned certificates in management from McGill, entrepreneurship from Wharton and sustainable development from Harvard. He is a Chartered Director (ADMA) and a Certified Environmental Specialist (ES), and plays an active role on various boards of directors, including those of CETEQ, FPInnovations and Earth Day Canada.
