Mathieu Trudelle is Executive Assistant for Energy Sector Coordination at the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie du Québec. In this role, he contributes to the development and implementation of strategic energy policy, supporting initiatives that promote the energy transition, the decarbonization of the economy and technological innovation in the sector. He holds a master’s degree in economics from Université Laval, where he was particularly interested in advanced econometric methods. His master’s thesis focused on the use of causal random forests, a machine learning technique for estimating the effects of public policies in complex and heterogeneous contexts. Throughout his career, Mathieu Trudelle has combined economic rigour, a sense of strategy and a detailed understanding of energy issues to support public decision-makers on key issues relating to Quebec’s energy transition.
