Dumont Nickel

With a career spanning more than thirty years in the mining industry, Martin Duclos is currently vice-president of environment and sustainable development at Dumont Nickel. Recognized for his leadership and collaborative approach, he ensures that environmental performance and sustainable development are at the heart of the company’s strategic decisions.

Prior to joining Dumont Nickel, Martin held the position of director of Environment and Community Relations at Falco Resources, where he managed the environmental authorization process and stakeholder consultation for the Horne 5 project. He also applied his expertise at Sayona as director of Health, Safety and Environment, where he led the implementation of integrated management systems in line with ESG best practice.

Throughout his career, notably with Yamana Gold Québec, Canadian Malartic and Goldcorp Mine Éléonore, Martin has combined technical rigour, a sense of dialogue and respect for local and indigenous communities.

His career began at SNC-Lavalin and the Québec Ministère de l’Environnement, where he developed a solid understanding of the regulatory frameworks and environmental issues associated with the development of major projects.

Today, as head of Environment and Sustainable Development at Dumont Nickel, Martin Duclos uses his experience and leadership to promote a modern mining vision rooted in respect for the environment, transparency and cooperation with communities.
