He also plays a strategic role in managing the intellectual property associated with the innovative processes and products developed at NMG.

Martin is a qualified chemist and holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the Université de Montréal. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry as an organic chemist, specializing in the synthesis of active compounds. After more than five years in the laboratory, he undertook doctoral studies in chemical engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke, where his work focused on the chemical degradation of cathodic electrical contacts in aluminium production cells. His postdoctoral work gave him the opportunity to deepen his knowledge of extraction processes for strategic metals such as lithium, magnesium and rare earths.
