Marie-Pierre Ippersiel

Marie-Pierre Ippersiel is President and CEO of PRIMA Québec. For over 25 years, she has been interested in the dynamics of innovation ecosystems and their players.

Prior to taking up this position in 2016, Marie-Pierre was Vice-President of Écotech Québec, the clean technology cluster, for more than six years. In this role, she managed the cluster’s activities, coordinated collaborative projects and created various strategic content. As a research advisor to the Montréal Metropolitan Community (MMC) from 2004 to 2010, she helped implement the main tools of the Greater Montréal Economic Development Plan, including the cluster strategy. In 2003, she produced an advisory report on innovation in Québec municipalities for the Science and Technology Council (Conseil de la science et de la technologie).

Marie-Pierre participated in the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference in 2017 and co-chaired the Canadian Net-Zero Advisory Body from 2021 to 2023. She currently sits on the boards of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), the Quantum Innovation Zone, DistriQ and the Equilibrum Group. She holds a doctorate in urban studies from the Centre Urbanisation Culture Société at INRS in Montréal.
