Marc Carmichael

Marc is a husband, dad and coach and AVP Climate Resilience Lead for Canada at Zurich Resilience Solutions. As a sustainability professional he has helped to weave ESG and business resilience strategy and performance into the fabric of the daily business. Mac has held several engineering and management roles throughout his career, from project and departmental management to aggregate quality management, environmental performance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and mergers and acquisitions due diligence. After university, Mac worked in environmental consulting firms for 9 years, and moved to industry for 16 years in the areas of construction, construction materials, surface mining and solid waste before landing at Zurich. He has also had the privilege of coaching the junior high and high school age group in baseball, basketball, and leadership training.

Marc is Professional Engineer and Envision Sustainability Professional and has completed a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from Queen’s University and a Certificate in Climate Change Policy and Practice from the University of Toronto.
