Luca Sorelli

Université Laval

Luca Sorelli is a structural engineer and, since 2009, a full professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Université Laval. Previously, he worked as an engineer in the structural durability division at IFSTTAR (Paris), in the civil engineering department at MIT (Cambridge) and at the Lafarge research centre (Lyon). His research interests include: (i) multiscale methods for the development of concrete composites, e.g., ecological UHPC concretes with by-products from local industry; (ii) technology for monitoring and repairing structures with waterproof and ultra-durable UHPC reinforcement layers; (iii) numerical analysis, design and optimization of composite structures in architectural and civil engineering applications. As an expert, he has acted as a consultant for a number of UHPC engineering structures in France and Canada.
