Mr. Li Li is a full professor of mining engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. He is a mining engineer and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Between June 2020 and June 2023, he was responsible for the Bachelor of Mining Engineering program. Since May 2023, he has been the scientific director of RIME UQAT-Polytechnique. Dr. Li has many years of experience in geotechnical engineering. His research interests cover several fields, including rock and soil mechanics. Over the past twenty years, he has devoted his research to the design of backfilled sites, focusing on the estimation of stresses in backfilled sites and pressures on barricades, the sizing of waste rock barricades and the evaluation of the required strength for exposed embankments.
