Jonathan Lafontaine

Mr Jonathan Lafontaine started his current role as Strategic advisor for the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts in 2020. Mr Lafontaine graduated with a B.Sc. in geology from Laval University in 2001 including an academic exchange with the University of Alberta, and graduated with a M.Sc. in geology from the University of New Brunswick in 2007. He began his professional career in Saskatchewan for a uranium exploration and mining company and pursued professional interests as a geologist in New Brunswick, Quebec and Saskatchewan. Between 2013 and 2020, he has assumed several different roles in the fields of corporate development and mining investments, and he managed technical committees at the provincial, Canadian and international levels. Since the beginning of his career, he has been involved with several commodities and numerous projects representing the entire mineral development process.
