Jennifer O’Bomsawin
Jennifer O’Bomsawin is Wendat and W8banaki (Abenaki). She has spent several years working at the heart of Indigenous politics, where she is recognized for her leadership and commitment to advancing Indigenous voices.
A former journalist for Radio-Canada and TVA, Jennifer specialized in Indigenous affairs and media representation. Her expertise and advocacy led her to serve as Chair of the National Youth Council of the Assembly of First Nations, representing Indigenous youth from Quebec and Labrador on the national stage.
Trained in political science, she has worked with two Ministers of Indigenous Affairs for the Government of Quebec and has served as a strategic advisor to the Grand Chief of the Huron-Wendat Nation. She is currently Director, Practice Lead-First Nations and Inuit Relations at NATIONAL Public Relations, where she continues to support Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations in their efforts toward meaningful engagement and reconciliation.
Alongside her advisory work, Jennifer is a public speaker and trainer, delivering conferences and workshops on Indigenous issues and governance. She regularly provides political commentary in the media and is also a faculty member at the First Nations Executive Education School, where she contributes to leadership development and Nation-building.
