Jean-Francois Boulanger

Jean-François Boulanger, Eng., Ph.D., has been an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biotechnological Engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke since 2025 (professor since 2019). He is co-holder of the Research Chair on the Valorization of Asbestos Mine Tailings. With a background in metallurgy and materials engineering, his work focuses on ore processing and extractive metallurgy, particularly in relation to critical and strategic metals. With an approach based on experimentation and partnerships with the metallurgical industry, his research interests include flotation of oxidized minerals, alkaline processes, selective leaching, solvent extraction and data reconciliation.
