Geneviève Gauthier
Since the beginning of her engineering career in 2000, Mrs. Gauthier has been driven by a deep interest in understanding what slows down or hinders the energy transition—whether at the scale of a company, an industry, or a region. This systemic perspective has guided her work for over 25 years, across a wide range of contexts including heavy industry, public institutions, utilities, and government bodies.
With an engineering degree from Polytechnique Montréal and a master’s in pulp and paper processes from the Institute of Science and Technology in Atlanta (USA), she has developed multidimensional expertise at the intersection of technical, strategic, financial, organizational, and policy domains. Her experience includes developing energy efficiency and decarbonization strategies, financing models, change management, and regulatory support.
As National Director of Consulting Services at Econoler, she leads major energy efficiency and low-carbon transition projects. She also contributes to professional training through CIET and teaches energy transition strategy at HEC Montréal, focusing on practical and actionable solutions.
Active in the clean technology ecosystem, she chairs the Board of Directors at Écotech Québec, co-initiated BOMA Québec’s Energy Challenge in Building, and is a frequent speaker at industry events. Her work emphasizes lasting impact, technical rigor, and collective value.
