Francis Fournier has worked in the field of natural resources for over thirty years. A forestry engineer by training, he has more than two decades of experience in management, research and innovation. In 2018, he took over as President and CEO of COREM, Canada’s largest mineral processing research and expertise centre.

Convinced that collaboration is an essential lever for innovation, Francis Fournier has put in place a concerted national approach, bringing together industry players, provincial and federal governments, as well as public and private research partners. His strategic vision promotes the emergence of sustainable and competitive solutions for the mining industry.

Committed to the governance of innovation, he sits on a number of boards, including those of the MISA Group, Sillons, Innoventures Canada and the Cégep de Sainte-Foy, as well as on the management committee of the Institut nordique du Québec, where he has been an active contributor since its foundation.

“The complexity of the occupation and development of the North requires the contribution of driving forces in research and innovation. It is in this context that the Institut nordique du Québec contributes through the deployment of its mission.”
