Damien Carrier
Damien holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke and a master’s degree in project management from the Université du Québec en Outaouais. He has 30 years of experience in the mining and energy sectors. Damien began his career at Hydro-Québec’s research institute (IREQ) in Varennes, before joining ArcelorMittal in Fermont and becoming regional industrial manager for WSP in Gatineau. He recently joined CanmetMINES in Ottawa as Director of Sciences and Mineral Processing.
As a mechanical engineer, he was involved in gold leaching projects for IAMGOLD, nickel extraction for Glencore-Raglan and Canadian Royalties Nunavik, and the Nano One plant for lithium-iron-phosphate batteries in Candiac. In the energy sector, he has contributed to the refurbishment of hydroelectric power facilities, steam cogeneration plants using forest biomass in the Outaouais region and the modernization of a district heating network in the federal capital.
