Bertrand Rottier

Bertrand Rottier is a professor of metallogeny in the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering at Université Laval. His work is centered on the physicochemical processes responsible for critical and strategic metal deposits (REE, graphite, copper) and gold deposits, as well as the development of new exploration methods. His work is primarily located in the Grenville, Gaspésie and Abitibi regions. In 2019, Bertrand Rottier was awarded the prize for the best article published in Mineralium Deposita by the Society of Applied Geology (SGA). In 2024, he received the Waldemar Lindgren Award from the Society of Economic Geology (SEG) in recognition of his contributions to research in the field of economic geology.
