Andrea Amortegui

Andrea Amortegui holds a B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the National University of Colombia. She completed a master’s degree at the University of Montpellier, France, on the structure of the lithosphere, and a doctorate at the University of Grenoble, France, pertaining to geochemistry. In 2009, she obtained a post-doctorate at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Ms. Amortegui has been with the Direction générale de Géologie Québec of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts since 2010. She was scientific advisor to Géologie Québec’s general manager until 2017, and has held management positions since then. Ms. Amortegui has been the director of the Direction de l’acquisition des connaissances géoscientifiques of Québec since 2018.
