Alain Carrier

Alain Carrier is a geologist by training and currently holds the roles of “Practice Leader—Geology” and “Client Account Manager” at InnovExplo—a member of Norda Stelo. He is renowned for having been co-president and founder of InnovExplo, which marked its 20th anniversary in 2023.

Mr. Carrier has over 28 years of experience in exploration, economic geology and mineral resources. He is involved in project generation, geological modelling, mineral resource and reserve assessments, NI 43-101, JORC and S-K 1300 technical reports, and due diligence. He has relevant experience in various types of deposits (precious metals (Au, Ag), base metals (Cu, Zn, Ni), industrial and high-tech (graphite, Li, Be, Ta, rare earths, U) as well as different types of operations (underground and open-pit mines).

He is a member of the CIM’s Mineral Resources and Reserves Committee as well as the Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ), Ontario (PGO) and Nunavut (NAPEG) and the AEMQ, CIM, PDAC and SEG professional associations. He holds diplomas in mineral technology (1989) from CÉGEP de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue, geology (1992) and master’s (1994) from UQAM. Mr Carrier initiated a doctorate in geology at the INRS (Québec), for which he completed the course work but not the thesis.
