South Korea is emerging as a leading strategic partner in the development of secure, resilient, and sustainable supply chains for critical minerals and the electric vehicle (EV) industry. Globally recognized for its leadership in innovation, clean technologies, and advanced manufacturing, the country plays a key role in strengthening the capacity to produce batteries and strategic materials.

In a context shaped by economic security concerns, supply chain diversification, and the energy transition, Québec and South Korea have a strong mutual interest in deepening their governmental and industrial cooperation. Forging structured partnerships between the two jurisdictions could help consolidate reliable and competitive supply chains while fostering investment, innovation, and the growth of strategic sectors in Québec.

For Québec, this collaboration represents an opportunity to strengthen its position as a trusted international partner and to play a greater role in the global ecosystem of critical minerals, batteries, and clean technologies.

During this session, government and industry representatives from Québec and South Korea will come together to discuss these strategic issues and explore avenues for cooperation aimed at enhancing the resilience and security of supply chains.
