This session will consist of flash presentations by master’s and doctoral students participating in the Geoscience Research Challenge.
Each year, geoscience graduate students (earth sciences, mining and metallurgical engineering, environmental studies) attending the Québec Mines + Énergie conference are invited to participate. It gives them a chance to publicly present their research by displaying a poster in the exhibition space and giving a five-minute oral presentation assessed by a panel of judges.
The themes addressed by these flash presentations provide a window on the research being carried out at Quebec universities or dealing with Quebec geology, and reflect geoscience in all its diversity.
In collaboration with SOQUEM, Québec Mines + Énergie will award five scholarships: two each for doctoral students and master’s students (based on their performance in the flash presentations), and the “Audience Choice Award” for the highest rated poster displayed in the exhibition space.
Come meet the next generation of geoscientists and see how their research is advancing knowledge on geological systems, mineral resources, and environmental issues.
