At 52, Xavier Piechaczyk has spent his entire career in the public sector.

President of the Managing Board of RTE since September 2020, he had been a member of the Managing Board of RTE since October 2015, in charge of the operational functions of asset management for the electricity transportation network, RTE’s customers and the company’s relations with the territories.

Between 2012 and 2015, he was Advisor to the Prime Minister and then to the President of the Republic, in charge of energy, transport, housing and environment. Previously, as Deputy Director of Transportation Services, he was in charge of the regulation, safety, security and social aspects of land transport (rail, urban transport, road freight and passenger transport, major maritime ports).

He has also held several positions in his career as project manager for linear infrastructures, at the Roads Department of the Ministère de l’Équipement and at the Infrastructure Department of the Ministère de l’Écologie.

Since 2000, his professional career has given him the opportunity to work closely with manufacturers in the energy, transport and construction sectors, as well as with the State, territorial communities, environmental protection players and trade unions in the sectors in which he has been involved.

Chief Engineer of bridges, waters and forests, Xavier Piechaczyk is a graduate of the National School of Public Works of the State, holds a master’s degree from the National School of Bridges and Roads and a doctorate in political science.
