Violette Berge

Artelys Canada

Violette Berge is Vice-President at Artelys Canada. After completing a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics at ENSTA Paris, Berge moved into the field of energy system optimization and forecasting. As part of her work at Artelys Canada, she has led several projects for major players in the North American energy sector, both for private producers and for integrated entities or government institutions. She has worked on a wide range of complex subjects, including techno-economic studies on the detailed operation of hydroelectric power plants, electricity and system services markets, as well as electricity and gas demand forecasting at different scales. Following on from these experiences, Berge has directed and coordinated several research projects on the modeling of power systems in the Northeastern U.S., including Quebec and its neighbors, for prospective studies and electricity price forecasting. Berge is also a member of a technical committee for the Canadian Energy Modeling Hub. She is currently completing her education in the MBA program at HEC Montréal on a part-time basis.
