
Véronique Morency
Véronique holds a bachelor’s degree in public communications. She began her professional career in strategic communications and joined Hydro-Québec as a community relations advisor, where she worked in partnership with local governments and municipal stakeholders to reconcile interests and promote harmonious regional development. She then joined the Société du Plan Nord in February 2020 as a marketing advisor. She has gained a wealth of experience in maximizing the impact of public and private investment in the region and in economic development with local, regional, and Indigenous stakeholders, including support in financing initiatives. Véronique has solid experience in regional economic development and collaboration with stakeholders. At the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Véronique Morency acts as an advisor on maximizing the economic benefits of mining projects, both in the exploration and exploitation phases. In particular, she coordinates the work of the Workforce Training Roundtable, which aims to mobilize and harmonize the actions of stakeholders in order to promote the development of a skilled workforce and support the deployment of employability in the mining sector.
