Sophie Turcotte

Ms. Sophie Turcotte, geologist and coordinator of active site reclamation, is the technical expert in the process of approving closure plans for active mine sites. Ms. Turcotte has been with the DRSM for over 13 years, during which time she has also acted as a mining reclamation specialist and resource person for her colleagues on the technical aspects of the reclamation concept for abandoned mining sites and active mines. She holds a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and has nearly 25 years of experience in the mining industry and mining environment.
