Shiva Tirdad
Dr. Tirdad is a researcher in the application of artificial intelligence to geosciences and geophysics at the Geological Survey of Canada and an Adjunct Professor at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique. Her work focuses on multi-source geoscientific data integration and geophysical inversion, using deep learning methods for mineral resource exploration (including critical minerals). She is a co-founder of the Laboratoire d’analyse géoscientifique et numérique par intelligence artificielle (LAGNIA), a consortium consisting of the Geological Survey of Canada, the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, Quebec’s Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts, and France’s Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières de France. Her research aims to accelerate mineral discovery through artificial intelligence approaches that enable more targeted, efficient, and sustainable exploration.
