Sean Capstick

Sean Capstick, P.Eng., has over 30 years of environmental compliance experience. Sean provides specialized expertise on strategic and regulatory advice to clients regarding emerging Sustainability, ESG and Risk Assessment practices. He is the leader of WSP’s Global Mining ESG Strategic Initiative to promote the use of the latest Best Practices and risk management approaches to the sector.

Sean has provided climate change services for the mining sector, including the ICMM majors and mid and junior mining companies, helping demonstrate that they are meeting supply chain requirements. He has developed ESG and Climate Change guidance for both the sector and applied company policies across the mine life cycle. He is a member of Canada’s Strategic Steering Committee on Natural Resources (NRSSC) which oversees the standards activities of the Canadian Natural Resources Program, which includes mining, forestry, oil & gas, Carbon Capture and Storage, and water resources. Sean also sits on the External Advisory Panels for the Canadian Centre for Climate Services (CCCS) and the Mining Practitioner Network.
