Renée Garon
Ms. Garon holds a Master’s degree in organizational management and development, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Université Laval. She has since been working as a manager and has, in particular, worked in the private sector at Desjardins Assurances générales. Subsequently, she held positions in the parapublic hospital sector for a few years before joining the Autorité des marchés financiers team at its creation in 2004. In 2011, she chose to pursue her career in the Québec public service at the Ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources naturelles as Directrice générale du développement de l’industrie minière (director general of mining industry development). Since June 2018, she has held the position of Directrice générale de l’administration minière (director general of mining administration) within the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts. Her responsibilities include overseeing Québec’s mining regime, managing the public register of real and immovable mining rights, controlling mining activities, and restoring mine sites, whether active mines or sites under government responsibility.
