Philip Lypaczewski

LithologIQ

Philip Lypaczewski completed his B.Sc. in geology at McGill University in 2013 and his Ph.D. in applied hyperspectral imaging for mineral exploration at the University of Alberta in 2020. Since then, he has been at the College of the North Atlantic, where he is the principal researcher for a hyperspectral digitization program of provincial drilling archives in Newfoundland. His research interests focus on the applied use of hyperspectral instrumentation for the mining industry, more specifically, on the development of fundamental knowledge in mineral spectroscopy and the use of spectral metrics that have direct applications to the mining industry, either by enabling guidance to mineral deposits, or by characterizing mined materials directly at the mine site.
