Patrick Beauchesne

Patrick Beauchesne holds a B. Sc. in forest resource development and a M. Sc. in forest science. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Société du Plan Nord in November 2019. Earlier that same year, he was Associate Secretary General for the Ministère du Conseil exécutif and Chair of the Comité ministériel de l’économie et de l’environnement. Prior to this, Beauchesne held various positions within the Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, since 1992. As Director General of Ecology and Conservation, he contributed to the preparation of land protection objectives as part of the development of the Plan Nord in 2010 and 2015. He was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister for sustainable development and environmental protection in 2014, then Deputy Minister in 2017. Beauchesne sits on the boards of directors of the Société ferroviaire et portuaire de Pointe-Noire S.E.C. and Société ferroviaire Québec Rail S.E.C., as well as on the executive committee of the Institut nordique du Québec.
