Normand Mousseau

Normand Mousseau is Professor of Physics at the Université de Montréal, Scientific Director of the Institut de l’énergie Trottier at Polytechnique Montréal, and Scientific Co-Director of the Energy Modelling Hub. A specialist in the modeling of complex materials, with over 200 articles to his credit, he has also been working on energy and natural resources issues since 2006. He is the author of several books on these subjects, including “Le défi des ressources minières” (2012) and “Gagner la guerre du climat : Douze mythes à déboulonner” published in 2017 by Éditions du Boréal. In 2013, he co-chaired the Commission sur les enjeux énergétiques du Québec, whose report, “Maîtriser notre avenir énergétique”, was published in 2014. He has participated in the production of several reports related to energy issues, and oversees the publication of the “Canadian Energy Outlook”, the second edition of which was released in the fall of 2021. He is a founding member and Scientific Director of the Transition Accelerator and a founding board member of the Canadian Institute for Climate Choices.
